About Me
I’ve been a helping professional for over twenty-five years. I started out as a caregiver and companion to individuals who were experiencing disability, chronically ill, or at end of life; and as a doula, providing support during childbirth. In the early 2000’s I earned a Bachelor in Religious Studies and Philosophy at Marylhurst University, and a Master of Divinity degree at Harvard. I became an ordained minister in the Unitarian Universalist tradition. For fifteen years, I led a large, progressive, and theologically diverse congregation in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Over the years, I have provided interfaith pastoral counseling to a wide range of people: from atheists to the fervently religious; people of all ages and socioeconomic statuses; people in prisons, hospices, hospitals, and homes; people of many identities and orientations. In 2022, I decided to deepen and expand my skills by working toward becoming a licensed therapist. I went on to earn a second masters degree— this time in counseling—at New Mexico Highlands University. In 2025, I wrapped up my congregational ministry to focus on counseling and coaching.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and EMDR therapist in the state of New Mexico at Reclaiming Wellness. Residents of New Mexico can find me at www.reclaimingwellness.com.
These days I am based in the Los Angeles area, where I live with my wife and a sweet old German Shepherd. I am a marathon runner, a grandmother, and an autist. I read two or three books at a time, crack a lot of silly jokes, and love to people watch.
